Or what to do with clients who refuse to discuss an old injury because it is too painful and could destroy the last threads of hope?\nIn EFT, such events are described as attachment injuries or relationship traumas. An attachment injury is defined in EFT as a singular event that shattered the trust between partners, whether recently or many years ago. The particular event continues to define the lack of safety between partners and causes an impasse in relationship repair.\nBroken trust is one of the most common reasons clients seek relationship counselling. It can also present many challenges for therapists working with clients on the healing process.\nWithin the Emotionally Focused Therapy model, there is an empirically validated model for repairing shattered trust between partners. Known as EFT’s attachment Injury Resolution Model, it can be used to guide therapists during escalation in Stage 1 as well as for rebuilding trust in Stage 2.\nWe hope you will join us for this indispensable EFT training that will increase your confidence and competence in facilitating healing conversations with your clients.\n\nFollowing the in person training participants will be able to:\n\nCleary define an “Attachment Injury” and recognize markers of a relationship/attachment injury, blocking a couple from safe connection.\nExplicitly track and validate an Attachments Injury in the negative cycle in Stage 1.\nPrepare a couple for the Stage 2 Attachment Injury Resolution Process.\nApply the EFT tango and EFT interventions for each step in the Attachment Injury Resolution Model.\nTo benefit from this training, you will need to have completed the EFT Externship.\n\nAbout the Trainer\nLorrie Brubacher, M.Ed.\nIndividual, Marriage and Family TherapistLorrie Brubacher is a registered marriage and family therapist, with 20 years of experience as an individual, couple and family therapist.
