Mai Kotb has been working and training in the field of psychology since 2004. She completed a
Master’s Degree Program in Family and Couples Therapy from the University of Calsouthern,
USA and had received her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from the American University in
Cairo (AUC). Mai has worked with a wide range of clientele. She has worked as an addiction
counsellor (both inpatient and outpatient), as a child and adolescent therapist, and as a family
and couple therapist. She holds parental consultations that tackle positive parenting. She is also
experienced in running support groups for people living with HIV/AIDS.
Mai applies an Emotionally Focused Therapy in her sessions, which is attachment based approach. The goal of
therapy is for an individual, couple, and/or family to gain insight into each member’s role as it
relates to the healthy functionality of the whole. In addition, she tries to accommodate all her
clients by integrating eclectic techniques.
