Maryam Maafa obtained her Master of Art in Counseling Psychology from The American University in Cairo in June 2013. Maryam has over 7 years of experience and more than 5,000 individual and couples therapy hours. Maryam also provides workshops on a wide variety of topics related to mental health and wellbeing. She enjoys working with individuals, couples and families that may be stuck due to certain life challenges or mental struggles. Maryam helps her clients with her skills and experience to gain a better understanding of themselves and manage their mental wellbeing, to develop and grow with their own maximum capacity. Empowering them to take risks that best suit their judgement for them to strive on the personal and relationship levels.
Maryam grew fond of working with couples as she believed that helping distressed couples to connect with significant improvement, will enhance family life as well as each person individually, which in return will hopefully have a positive impact on the community. Being able to practice EFT with her clients and witnessing the positive results, she is a strong advocate of the EFT modality and how important it is for the region. Maryam joined the EGYCEFT board with no hesitation as she believes it will help increase knowledge and experience for therapists in the Middle East based on validated research studies. Therefore, by spreading the EFT modality in the region hopefully it will impact the community with healthier outcomes for clients, couples and families facing challenges in their personal, professional and family life.
